About
Photography is my passion, and the advent of digital photography opened up so many different ways of developing and presenting an image. The opportunity was there to visualise an image while taking the photo, and then to “paint” it using the computer. Over the years I have developed these retouching skills to a high level.
Involvement with the New Zealand Photographic Society, advice and encouragement from some very talented friends, and workshops with leading photographers has given me the confidence to pursue my passion.
I achieved my Associateship with PSNZ in 2007 and have had a number of works accepted in their national exhibitions.
In 2007 I received the Gold Medal for the champion print at the North Shore National Salon, and in 2009, I received the Silver Medal in the same section.
I was awarded the Brian Brake Memorial Award and Gold Medal for Photojournalism at the National Exhibition in 2008.
In 2010 I received a Silver Medal at the National Exhibition.
My images have also appeared in the NZ Camera Book for the past 6 years.
In 2008 I had a wonderful opportunity to travel in China as a guest of the Chinese Photographic Society, as well as three months traveling in USA and Canada. It was a great opportunity to capture the spirit of the people and their environment.
People fascinate me, and I love interacting with them and being able to gain their confidence to create wonderful images. Weddings are a very special time, and I feel privileged to be able to capture memories of such a memorable day.
I look forward to any comments and enquiries.
