Thanks for visiting my website, I hope you enjoy browsing through my galleries and viewing some of my favourite images.
My husband, Ian and I live on the shores of Lake Tarawera, Rotorua, New Zealand, a pristine beautiful lake surrounded by unspoilt native bush, thermal areas and an abundance of birdlife. This to me is one of the most beautiful places in the world and as a result I really enjoy landscape photography, seeing a special light and composing a scene that captures the feeling of that location then bringing it to life with post processing.
I enjoy many genres, especially photographing people, getting to know them and then finding that special look or expression.
Ian and I have have spent many months travelling in a campervan through USA and Europe, which has produced a multitude of opportunities to photograph the landscape, the people and the wildlife. We love meandering through the small towns, meeting the locals and finding out about their communities. During our travels I keep a daily blog including many photos, http://ruakiwi.blogspot.com/
I am a member and Past President of the Rotorua Camera Club and in 2012 I received my FPSNZ, a Fellowship Honours from the Photographic Society of New Zealand. I am presently a member of their Honours Board.
Over the years I have received a number of photographic awards in National and International competitions.
In 2013 I had a book published featuring the images and story of a tui that nested beside our home, more details on the Publication Page including a link to an interview on Radio New Zealand.
All images on my website are for sale. I would love to hear from you, full details are on the Contact Page.
